Green Goes Out On Loan – Sheppard Returns

We can confirm that Elliot Green has signed for Alfreton Town on loan until the end of the season whilst Jake Sheppard has returned to his parent club Reading.

Centre-back Green, 23, who has been out injured since last season, has been back in training and has been loaned out to enable the player to get some game time.

Green joined Guiseley in December 2016 but has had a couple of serious injuries that have seen him play just ten games for the club. His career started in the youth set up at his home town club Lincoln City and he signed a pro contract with Lincoln in 2012. He had spells on loan at Lincoln United, Grantham Town, Stamford, Sheffield FC and Eastwood Town before moving to Sweden.

There he played for Ange IF FC and a couple of other clubs before moving to Canada in February 2016 after signing for Vancouver Whitecaps.

Good luck Elliot!

Right-back Sheppard was on a season long loan from Sky Bet Championship side Reading. The 20 year-old made his Guiseley debut at Tranmere Rovers. As well as playing for the Reading Academy Sheppard has represented Scotland at youth level and at Under-21 level. He impressed last season on loan at Dagenham and Redbridge.

We’d like to thank Jake for his efforts and wish him well for the future.
