Charity Six-A-Side A Roaring Success

Guiseley Lions along with Guiseley Community Foundation staged their annual charity six-a-side tournament raising £406 for local charities.

Staged on Guiseley AFC’s 3G pitch half the proceeds went to Ilkley fundraiser Andy Sharpe taking him past £22,000 as he heads towards his target of £25,000 for CLIC Sargent and the other half went to the Guiseley Lions.

All the participants of the tournaments played their games in good spirit and a positive friendly manner which made the event run smoothly throughout the day.
Andy said: “I would like to thank Guiseley Lions, particularly Peter Gable and his wife, and Guiseley Community Foundation, especially Phil Rogerson and Kinnon North, who cooked and served refreshments all day and the people who sold raffle tickets. Their efforts and commitments were a key tool to the success of the event.

During the lunch break a group of young Guiseley Under-14 players, who were too young to play in the tournament paid to the fund to play a game.
