On Good Friday, 30th March, we welcome Marty & his friends to the Matchday Club, they will take part in a coaching session, have a tour behind the scenes checking out the dressing rooms and dug outs and walk out with the team.
While the children enjoy themselves mum Sarah and her support team are organising a bake sale to raise funds for their 2 charities. Please support the bake sale the last one raised a massive £350.61.
Before he was born, local Guiseley boy Marty Bishop was diagnosed with a cardiomyopathy, meaning disease of the heart muscle.
His parents Darren and Sarah Bishop were given a very poor prognosis for his survival. Since his birth, Marty now 7 years old has been defying his diagnosis under the watchful eye of Great Ormond Street Hospital but the future is still unknown.
As a family they have developed the Charity Cause ‘Marty’s Penny Bank’ and have raised almost £30,000 for 2 Charities who have been lifelines to them in the last 8 years, Cardiomyopathy UK and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Charity.
If you would like to know more or get involved with some of their fabulous fundraising events they’d love to hear from you so please visit Marty’s Penny Bank on Facebook.
Marty is one of 6 children who will be the face of Great Ormond Streets Bake It Better 2018 campaign in London.
Their Bake It Better is their biggest campaign of the year and it launches in March with the Bake sales to be held in May.
Because Marty is featuring we are going to try to raise £2018 .
We will be asking if you could host a Bake It Better for us which can be anything from a School-Club-group bun sale or in the workplace or a coffee morning at home / church .
If you register your interest we can get you a pack once the campaign launches and you can use Marty’s face as your promotion?
It’s easy – baking and eating cakes.
What could be better ?
