2020/21 Season Ticket Holders Update

Following the announcement that the 2020/21 National League North season was declared null and void, Guiseley AFC can now provide an update to season ticket holders.

Firstly, throughout the ups and downs of this unprecedented season, the standout point has been the unwavering support from our fantastic fans. When we started planning for the commencement of the season behind closed doors, we offered all season ticket holders one of the following options:

1. To carry over your season ticket to next season
2. A full refund
3. Donate your season ticket refund back to the club on a pro-rata basis, and take up your season ticket once spectators are allowed back in

When the list of options was first published, we hoped that supporters would be back inside Nethermoor sooner rather than later, but we now know this will not happen due to the season being curtailed and the current Coronavirus restrictions. This means our club has been denied the opportunity to generate vital match day revenue.

The focus now is on ensuring our club remains on a sound financial footing and is in the strongest position possible to start the 2021/22 campaign. We fully appreciate the pandemic has had a significant impact on many people’s circumstances and if you require a pro-rata rebate on your season ticket for any reason then we will arrange this.

All season ticket holders will therefore be contacted shortly and asked to choose from the following two options:

Option A: I would like to forego my rebate on my 2020/21 season ticket and allow Guiseley AFC to retain the money to help build for the 2021/22 season.
Option B: I would prefer to have a rebate on my 2020/21 season ticket.

Once you have received your email, we ask that you respond no later than Friday 5th March 2021. Please note if you do not confirm your preferred choice before this date, the club will assume you wish to donate your season ticket and will not require a pro-rata rebate (Option B). If you have purchased season tickets for other family members or friends, then please can you let us know which option you wish to select for those too.

If selecting Option B, then we will be back in touch with you after 5th March to confirm further details.

Once again, we would like to thank you for your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back into Nethermoor very soon.

A further update has since been issued to cover some FAQs:

On 3rd November 2020/21 season ticket holders were offered three options
1. To carry over your season ticket to next season
2. A full refund
3. Donate your season ticket refund back to the club on a pro-rata basis, and take up your season ticket once spectators are allowed back in

Subsequently, three lists were compiled:-
  1. Those who, when the 2021/22 season commences, will be issued with a season ticket, as a replacement for the unused 2020/21 season ticket
  2. Full refunds were paid to those who requested it
  3. At the time we thought, as did the League, that spectators would be allowed back in by Christmas 2020. Therefore, those people who selected option 3, would be issued with a season ticket to cover the remaining fixtures. Those who chose options 1 or 2 would have to pay on the gate.
Now we know that season 2020/21 won’t complete. Option 1 people will be issued with their season tickets when we re-start (August 2021?); Option 2 people have had their money back. This just leaves option 3.

Therefore, if you chose option 3 you should have had an email asking the following:

Option A: I would like to forego my rebate on my 2020/21 season ticket and allow Guiseley AFC to retain the money to help build for the 2021/22 season.
Option B: I would prefer to have a rebate on my 2020/21 season ticket.

So, if you have had an email, please respond to it; if you haven’t had an email but think you should have, please email trudi.miller@guiseleyafc.co.uk to start the conversation.

Finally, if you originally selected Option 1 – carry over of your season ticket and you have changed your mind and now require a refund, please contact Trudi to arrange.

On a slightly different note, at this moment it would seem that spectators will be allowed into sporting events during the summer. We do not yet know what this will look like, socially distanced or otherwise, and in turn how this might impact on seating. As soon as we have some news that we can verify we will make the usual announcements, along with season ticket information.
