Goalkeeper Kyle Trenerry Signs For Guiseley

We are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Kyle Trenerry as our fourth new recruit of the summer.

Goalkeeper Kyle Trenerry has fond memories of playing alongside new manager Danny Ellis for Farsley and has renewed the link by signing for The Lions this week, writes Rachel O’Connor.

Trenerry, 22, said: “Danny was brilliant for me on and off the field at Farsley, he was a good influence and I couldn’t wait to sign for him. When I walked into the Guiseley ground to sign the place was buzzing, I got a really good vibe. It didn’t seem like a club that had just been relegated. They were really unlucky to go down, they weren’t a team that had been at the bottom all season.”

“I cannot wait to get started in the pre-season friendlies, we seem to have quite a few interesting games lined up and I am ready for training starting in early July. I am buzzing to be coming to Guiseley and to be able to play for the management team of Danny Ellis and Danny Forrest. I am a big Bradford City fan and was a fan of Danny Forrest as a City player. He also taught my sister at the One In A Million School near to Valley Parade.”

Trenerry said that he was impressed with the way Danny Ellis and Dave Currie’s Academy teams played remembering a 7-1 thumping for the Farsley Academy team he coaches and the way the Guiseley team set up against Halifax Town when he was an Academy player there.

“I know what Danny’s teams are about and I am keen to be part of it,” said Trenerry.

The young ‘keeper already has a wide range of experience having started out as a scholar at Halifax Town and progressing through the Academy to the first team squad before moving on to Farsley Celtic, in two spells; Matlock Town and Yorkshire Amateur along with a short spell at Clitheroe thrown in for good measure.

He sees these experiences as a bonus in helping forge him into the player he is now and he is seeking to press on and develop more under the tutelage of the Guiseley management pairing.

He added: “I want to hit the ground running and make my mark. I work as a coach with Farsley Academy, not just goalkeeping but as an all round coach. I am going to Alicante as a coach with a team of young players just before we report for training so my fitness should be good. I am really looking forward to training under the two Dannys and I am hoping that we can all fit together well and get this club back where it belongs in the Vanarama National League North.”
