Thu 22 May Three New Signings

Manager Steve Kittrick has begun his recruitment campaign for the coming season with the capture of three players who all have Conference experience. Negotiations are currently ongoing with several more targets and we will bring you news of any new additions as and when they join GAFC.

Ryan Crossley joins from Farsley Celtic having spent the last five years at Throstle Nest where he was club captain. The 28-year-old plasterer joined Celtic from Bradford Park Avenue having been an ex-Huddersfield Town trainee. He  has also played for Stevenage and Wakefield-Emley.
Alex Callery is a 25 year old midfield player who joins from Gainsborough Trinity having started out as a trainee at  Sheffield Wednesday who has played for  Worksop, Ilkeston, Belper, Ossett Town, Frickley and Bradford PA
  Mark Whitehouse midfielder spent last season with w Halifax Town for whom he made four substitute appearances last season scoring one goal. Previously with Ossett Albion and Winterton Rangers.

Guiseley AFC is an FA Charter Standard and is looking to develop and  strengthen teams and playing standards, together with additional coaching support at all levels for the coming season.

With  teams at semi-professional, senior reserve, youth and junior levels and in partnership with Guiseley Juniors the club offers the opportunity for male and female players to seamlessly progress through the ranks up to the senior teams.

Female football is booming and none more so than in Guiseley where the Guiseley Ladies team has made a rapid rise up the divisions and after two successive promotions they finished a creditable fourth in the North East Regional Women's Premier Division and are looking to improve on this next season.

In addition to the successful Open Age team FA Chartered Standard partner  Guiseley Juniors AFC run teams in the  U-6, U-12s and U-14 age groups and are looking to add and Under 16's team next season.

So any girls interested in taking up the sport, rather than just watching their brothers, can now join a team of their own. recruitment of layers from Under U6 level right through to Senior Team has begun and anyone interested in playing or finding out more information contact  Ladies Team Manager Scott Rogan on 0788 7610781 after 6.30pm weekdays

Guiseley Ladies have become a force to be reckoned with but having been based mainly around a group of players who attended Leeds Met University together, Secretary Jenny Taylor, - raised and still living in Yeadon - wants to see a progression of local players following in her footsteps and making their way into the team.

The current ladies' team is made up of a host of PE teachers, a firefighter and a police officer. The girls are keen to spread the name of Guiseley AFC Ladies and are looking to youngsters to carry this on.

Guiseley Ladies will be recruiting for both their senior team and the junior teams at the Guiseley Music Festival at the Station pub on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 25. The ladies' team is to benefit from some of the proceeds from this event along with Aireborough Rugby Union Club.

The ladies and the girls' team enjoy coaching sessions on the Guiseley club's 3G all weather pitch in Nethermoor Park, Guiseley. The Charter Standard club has qualified coaches and a child protection officer.

The ladies section would like to thank Coach Steve Grimes who has left the club this week for his valuable contribution over the past two years. Guiseley AFC wish him well and success for the future and for roles within Football.

Sun 04 May Ladies Winning fFnale

Guiseley Ladies finished their league programme at home today with a 2-1 win against Team Northumbria.  On a heavy sticky rain soaked surface the match was always likely to be close and so it proved.  Guiseley's goal scorers were Sarah Dunn and Clare Jenkins.
