Lions through to meet Chorley

Guiseley came from a goal down to see off Rushall Olympic 2-1 in tonight’s FA Trophy replay, courtesy of goals from Jake Lawlor and Gavin Rothery.

The home side had gone ahead after just nine minutes when Shane Killock’s back pass left Steven Drench with too much to do as Aaron Williams converted.

Rothery provided the cross for Lawlor to head home the equalizer on 28 minutes before the former gave the Lions the lead from the spot on 65 minutes after Wayne Brooksby had been brought down in the area.

But the drama was far from over as Carl Palmer was fouled by Ryan Toulson, only for Williams to see  his spot kick saved by Drench.

The victory now sees fellow Vanarama Conference North side Chorley visit Nethermoor on Saturday 13 December 2014 (3pm) after they defeated Stalybridge 2-1 at Bower Fold – also in a Trophy replay- with former Lion Kevin Holsgrove scoring  a 90th-minute consolation for the home side.

In between times the Lions travel to Edgeley Park on Saturday to face sixth-place Stockport County, who drew 0-0 at home to AFC Fylde this evening.
