Community Foundation Receives Premier League Funding

“Connected to fans, past, present and future”

Guiseley AFC is set to benefit from a major cash injection following the news that Guiseley Community Foundation, the charitable arm of Guiseley AFC have been awarded a grant of £6400 from the Premier League Fans Fund.

The grant will enable the Community Foundation to engage in different ways with supporters and non-supporters within the local community. Through a range of different projects including a social media hub, a Fan’s Guide, the establishment of a Junior Supporters’ Club and a social history project it is anticipated that there will be an increase in interest in Leeds’ second largest football club.

Trudi Hannaford, General Manager: Community & Operations said “as a town Guiseley has a real community feel, people tend to stay in the area once they have arrived. Over the last five years there has been an expansion of new housing and we would like to create new ways that local people can interact with the club outside of attending a match. The generous funding from the Fans Fund allows us to do this”.

The Connected project begins with a survey, online or a paper version, which will reveal how fans would like to be informed of developments and news from the club.

The Premier League Fans Fund is a three-year commitment from the Premier League to fund projects and organisations which improve the relationship between fans and their clubs, the way football supporters engage with each other and fans’ experience of the game.
